John Mahama announces rejection of EC’s declared result


The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani says there was a deliberate attempt to manipulate the 2020 elections in favor of Nana Akufo-Addo

The Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress ( NDC), John Mahama says he is unwilling to accept the ‘fictionalized’ results of the Presidential and Parliamentary elections declared by the Electoral Commission (EC).

Addressing a press conference Thursday night. December 10, 2020, the Presidential Candidate of the NDC accused the Electoral Commission of manipulating the election results.

The NDC Flag-bearer also insisted that the NDC had won the Majority in Parliament though the Electoral Commission figures show the New Patriotic Party (NPP) leading with 137 MP’s elect to the NDC’s 136, with one constituency outstanding

“We will not accept anything short of a declaration of the legitimate results which points to an NDC Parliamentary majority,” He said.

He said there was no “doubt Ghanaians from every region of this great nation of ours, voted for change, and we did so in both the presidential and parliamentary elections. I’m a staunch believer and experiment of democracy, a system of governance that allows the ultimate decision making power to rest in the hands of you, the good people of Ghana.”

Mr. John Mahama who was publicly speaking for the first time after the Electoral Commission declared the results of the December 7, 2020 elections on Wednesday said: “the sacred verdict of the people must be respected, it must be protected, it has been my  pledge throughout my time of service as a representative to the good people of Ghana to do exactly that.”

“And that is why i stand before you here tonight, unwilling to accept the fictionalized results of a flawed election.” he added.
