A Tema bound loaded low bed truck lodged itself under the Hong Kong footbridge on the George Walker Bush motorway and became stuck, leading to traffic delays Sunday afternoon.
Efforts are under way to remove the stucked equipment from the bridge.
The driver of the truck, with registration number WR 1546-U, Isaac Ayittey, has been arrested, and the truck impounded at the Odorkor Police Station for investigation, Ghana Police Service said.
The police have been assisted by the Ghana Highway Authority and some welders to remove the truck to allow free and safe flow of traffic.
Approaching motorists are advised to drive cautiously with reduced speed.
