Member of parliament for Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has urged supporters of the New Patriotic Party to be “moderate and sensitive” in jubilation.
In a tweet, he wrote: “When you win an election, you don’t need to be aggressive. Be of good character and wait for the Electoral Commission to declare. And when you jubilate, be moderate and sensitive to public order and safety.”
The Minister’s post comes in the wake of EC certified results projecting a 657,302 difference in presidential votes between him and the National Democratic Congress’ John Mahama.
The EC has so far certified results from 14 regions.
Based on the figures, the NPP is leading the presidential election results with 6,730,413 (51.6%) votes against the NDC’s 6,214,889 (47.37%).
